WATCH Jill-like FUN
FOR
OUT!
As Editor, it is my self-imposed duty to add “Jill-like fun” to our town with events
OUT! like Town Trek, the Spring Festival and the Back on The Rack Fashion Show at
North Haven Tile. I am always looking for volunteer help. And, I couldn’t do it,
without the support of North Haven businesses.
Here is what I am working
on for the rest of the year.
1. Watch for our “Our Town 2” Winner and her special day in the next issue.
Don’t just read about it in the next issue. Join us for the Farm to Table Dinner, co-spon-
2. sored by Muzio Farm and the Daytime Gardeners which will take place in August. Get
more information on date, time and where on North Haven Magazine Facebook or
contact me at [email protected]
I am planning Best Face Forward, a Make-Up Artist Competition to benefit the Ulbrich
Boys and Girls Club at The Paul Mitchell School. The event is scheduled for August and
3. will be open to the public. It tests the talent of the make-up/hair stylists teams to create
specific looks on random models with the pressure of limited time and an audience.
Ladies - it’s amazing to watch!
Town Trek III is in the works. Get your teams together for a third year of unique chal-
lenges that take you all over North Haven. How good is your memory, your knowledge
4. of the town or can you toss an egg? This event has grown in popularity from year to
year. Ask anyone that participated. As in the past proceeds benefit the North Haven
Community Services Food Bank.
I am planning our first Chili Cookoff on the Town Green in October. I’m sending out a
5. challenge - do you think you make the best Chili? Prove it. I need ten of the best Chili
makers out there to participate. And, our local fire department, this means you! I’ll be
reaching out to everyone for support.
And, finally . . . The Magical Elf Toy Workshop. I created a Magical Elf House in Guilford
last year. What started as a story my Mom told me was brought to life by my Christmas
Fairies, or how they are known the rest of the year, Judi, Jennifer and Ramona, the
owners of Design House Interiors. Although the Magical Elf House was out of the area,
I was still supported by businesses in North Haven. Mark and Mary Minotti were my
6. head elves for the weekend. Mike Freda even came to do the tour and support me,
that level of support is what makes our town so special. That level of support! This
year, there will be a Magical Elf House II this year on the Shoreline BUT there will be
the first Magical Elf Toy Workshop in North Haven. More information to follow. But, I
promise, it will be magical.
